Pune: The Mumbai region accounted for the maximum number of 1.26 lakh units of houses to be completed in the year 2022. Only 70,500 houses were ready in the year 2021 in Mumbai. In 2022, the construction of houses has increased in these 7 cities and more than 4 lakh new houses have been completed. According to the latest report by asset advisory firm Anarock, after the Kovid-19 epidemic, real estate companies have completed the construction of more than four lakh houses in seven major cities of the country in 2022, speeding up the pace of construction of houses.
4 lakh houses ready in 2022
Anarock has said that in 2022, the construction work of 4.02 lakh houses in seven major markets of the country will be completed, which is much higher than the figure of 2.79 lakh houses in 2021. However, the pace of construction of houses was severely affected in 2020 and 2021 during the Kovid epidemic.
Most houses built in Mumbai
Anarock has released this data regarding residential units built in the cities of Delhi-NCR, Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. The Mumbai region accounted for the maximum number of 1.26 lakh units of houses to be completed in the year 2022. Only 70,500 houses were ready in the year 2021 in Mumbai. Whereas in the Delhi-NCR region, 86,300 houses were completed last year, which is marginally lower than 86,590 in 2021.
Condition of other Cities
Pune saw 84,200 units built while Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai together saw 81,580 residential units built. In Kolkata, this figure is 23,190 units. Anarock Chairman Anuj Puri said, “The year 2022 has been a stellar year for the real estate sector in India with sales surpassing the 2014 highs. To meet this demand, the developer is focusing on early completion of homes.”
Estimate of 5 lakh houses in 2023
More than 5.44 lakh houses are expected to be constructed in 2023 as well. Of these, maximum 1,66,850 houses are likely to be constructed in the Delhi-NCR region. Apart from this, 1.33 lakh houses can be completed in the Mumbai region.
